Who we are

Home with history.

Kanibal Home is a home furnishings and lifestyle store comprised of reupholstered furniture, vintage dishware, found objects, one-of-a-kind jewelry and an eco-friendly apparel collection, among others. But even more than the objects, Kanibal Home is the belief that pretty things make life beautiful.

How we started

In elementary school, when the girls were creating wedding book collages and cutting out pictures of Luke Perry from 90210 to be their pretend husbands, I was stealing my mom’s Pottery Barn magazines from the mailbox and cutting up old issues of Better Homes & Gardens to make my dream home book. But, unlike my peers, there was no Ken in my collages, just well placed décor, pastel wall paint and lots of framed photos. Over the years I’ve matured and so have my tastes, but I still obsess over that perfect house. I live right outside New York City and after college quickly realized that the house of my childhood collages would have to wait. Skyrocketing housing prices combined with any paycheck scraps that actually made it into savings weren’t adding up to a Victorian mini mansion with a turret any time soon. Kanibal Home is filled with mostly one-of-a-kind objects. Our vintage objects are hand picked pieces that combine a unique charm and sense of history with a dose of modern glam.

Because here at Kanibal Home, we’re hunters. For you. We only buy what we obsess over – actually, we have a hard time giving it up. This also means that in most cases there is only one of an item – so snatch it up before it’s gone, love it, live in it and check back often.

Tough Love

Since all of our items are hand picked from various walks of life, there’s a good chance they’ve been resurrected (reupholstered, redesigned, repainted) but still might contain what we like to call “beauty marks”. These beauty marks can be minor wear or small imperfections, but we promise they’ll only make you love.
